Tweens & Teens

Tweens and teens are eager to learn, eager to lead, and creative beyond belief. The SCH teen/tween program recognizes that middle school kids are passionate about helping others, so we focus our programming on developing leadership and mentorship skills, practicing civic engagement, building self-confidence, encouraging healthy relationships, and empowering youth to make a difference in their community.

Tween & Teen Events

Join us for weekly teen + tween meetups at SCH!

Every Friday will hold something new–group outings, team building, funky art, community engagement, event planning, movement, and so much more. We’ll spend the season creating a space for any middle schooler who is looking to connect and contribute outside of the classroom. This season, we’ll keep exploring new realms and activities, but we’ll also amp things up and channel our interests into putting on a teen/tween organized and led event at SCH! As a group, we’ll go through step by step what’s needed to plan and execute a fun and successful event.

This program is open to any middle schooler, whether you participated in the fall session or not. Hope to see you there!

Counselor in Training (6th–9th Grade)

Campers incoming to 6th–9th grade.

Camp hours: 9am - 1pm, full day option 9 am – 4 pm | $150/week + $50/week for extended day

Our counselor-in-training program is for rising 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th graders - AKA those who have aged out of day camps, but are still bursting with camp spirit. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends and be a part of the camp experience, while stepping up into a larger role—one with new responsibilities and challenges.

The CITs spend their summer bonding through team-building activities, learning leadership skills, and assisting counselors to create special moments with campers.

“I never had any friends later on

like the ones I had when I was 12.”

Those are the final words spoken by the narrator in the movie Stand by Me, the quintessential movie about those bittersweet transitional moments between childhood and adulthood, when everything from family, to friendships, to the causes we care about take on an extra intensity that is hard to capture later in life. It is that intensity of youth that makes the SCH teen/tween program one of our most exciting (and fun!) programs.
