Tweens & Teens

Tweens and teens are eager to learn, eager to lead, and creative beyond belief. The SCH teen/tween program recognizes that middle school kids are passionate about helping others, so we focus our programming on developing leadership and mentorship skills, practicing civic engagement, building self-confidence, encouraging healthy relationships, and empowering youth to make a difference in their community.

“I never had any friends later on

like the ones I had when I was 12.”

Those are the final words spoken by the narrator in the movie Stand by Me, the quintessential movie about those bittersweet transitional moments between childhood and adulthood, when everything from family, to friendships, to the causes we care about take on an extra intensity that is hard to capture later in life. It is that intensity of youth that makes the SCH teen/tween program one of our most exciting (and fun!) programs.
