Littles Programs
Our littles program offers a variety of classes and play opportunities for our youngest community members, from babies to five-year olds (and their grownups!). Our instructor-led classes and drop-in play times provide opportunities for little ones to move, create, explore, and learn.

Fireside Stories

3rd Fridays | 10-10:20 am | Cost: included in the cost of indoor play park | SCH Lobby
Drop-in for open play, and listen to a story, too! Join us on 3rd Fridays for a cozy fireside story in the lobby. Come snuggle up by the fire and listen to storytellers spin tales and sing songs. Price includes indoor play park entry!

Come mingle with other families and let your children move and play in our beautiful vintage gymnasium. We have a variety of riding toys and games to play. Your child will beg to come back for more! On Fridays, your little ones will love climbing, jumping, and exploring in our popular tumbling studio!

Bring your little ones for drop-in fun, available every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday! Drop-in for messy art, sensory exploration, and open-ended play, or join us for a group or class. Wifi is available for parents who would like to get some work done while their children play. Best suited to kids ages 0-5, though all are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Red Yarn Performance and Play

Red Yarn returns the 2nd Friday of every month, bringing high energy folk songs and puppet friends to children of all ages. Drop-in and enjoy the show, and stay to play afterward.

Embark on a delicious journey where food becomes an exciting sensory adventure! In this hands-on class, children will explore the world of food. With a focus on making food approachable, this educational class invites preschoolers and their parents to discover their eating behaviors, sensory preferences, and oral motor skills in a playful, supportive environment. Provided by Beech Street Speech & Language, this class offers parent education and consultation in an interactive way to develop a positive relationship with food! Perfect for children 2-5 years. Adult participation required. Each class is the same; we recommend registering for one session.

Messy Art at PlayLab

Baby Noshers

Join us for a fun, informative class where you'll learn the basics of Baby-Led Weaning! Provided by Beech Street Speech & Language, this class will guide you and your baby through the exciting transition to solids, teaching you how to safely introduce whole foods and encourage self-feeding. With practical tips and meal ideas, this class will help you feel confident as your little one explores new tastes and textures at their own pace. Perfect for babies 6 months and older. Adult participation required.

Music and Movement

Come dance, sing, and groove with Miss Hattie! Music and movement is designed to introduce children ages 0-3, to the joys of music and rhythm in a fun, interactive, and developmentally appropriate way. Each week will include play, movement, and sensory exploration.

Ready, Set, Go!

Ready, Set, Go! is designed to introduce young children (ages 18 mos-3 years to the basics of sports and physical activity in a safe, supportive, and energetic environment. Through games, interactive exercises, and fun activities, little ones will develop essential motor skills, coordination, balance, and teamwork—while having a blast!

At Sticky Fingers, your chef-in-training will have the opportunity to chop, mix, measure, and even taste–the best part, right? Your child will expand their palate and prepare delicious, healthy meals and snacks that you can try again at home! Ages 3-5, parent participation required.
Tiny Tumblers, 18 months-3 years
tuesdays | 9:15-10 am | $75 Registration | SCH Studio
Bring your toddlers to wiggle, climb, jump, and roll through an obstacle course built just for them! This class will be 45 minutes of stretches, movement songs, and free play on the obstacle course. Parent-participation required.

The Nesting Course

The Nesting Course guides expecting parents through the essential aspects of preparing for life after baby arrives, focusing on both the baby’s needs and the well-being of parents. Each week covers key topics designed to foster a smooth transition and equip parents with the tools they need to thrive.
This class aims to help you feel more confident, with a strong focus on both baby’s development and your own well being to build a strong community of support.

Circle of Security Parenting

Circle of security is a parent and child program which focuses on developing and supporting secure attachment to build childhood resilience. Sellwood Community House’s PlayLab is partnering with Help Me Grow to offer this free 8 week program to parents of 18 months to 5 years, looking to build additional tools to support their child’s emotional needs. This closed group will meet for 2 weekly classes. One morning parent class, and one evening play group. No cost childcare and food will be provided at each class.
