Overview + Schedule for All Camps

While SCH Summer Camp will not have specific weekly themes this year, we can assure you that each week will be exciting and packed with friends and fun.

You may notice that we have limited participant capacity for our summer programs this year.

As we continue to restore our building after it sustained extensive flood damage in January 2024, we want to make sure that we have the space and resources to make this a great summer for all. We are excited to welcome you all back to SCH!

Our counselor-in-training program is for rising 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th graders - AKA those who have aged out of day camps, but are still bursting with camp spirit. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends and be a part of the camp experience, while stepping up into a larger role—one with new responsibilities and challenges.

The CITs spend their summer bonding through team-building activities, learning leadership skills, and assisting counselors to create special moments with campers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Camp groupings are categorized by rising grade, so register them for the group with the grade they will be entering in fall.

  • Please be sure to send your camper with an energizing lunch, water bottle and 2 or more healthy snacks throughout the day.

We do not provide lunch/snacks for the campers and want to make sure that they are ready to conquer all the fun we have planned for them. We give them several opportunities to snack throughout the day.

  • No there is not. Drop off starts at 9:00am and pick up is promptly at 4:00. Late pick-ups will be charged $1 per minute.

  • All of our camp staff are first aid, CPR, and AED certified. Staff 18+ are part of the Early Learning Division’s Central Background Registry and participate in fingerprinting and an extensive background check. Staff younger than 18 are also background-checked.

  • Campers are assigned to groups and rotate with their group to activities throughout the day based on their age. If you would like to request a specific camper or campers, please email robin@sellwoodcommunityhouse.org. For 1st-5th grade campers or Molly@sellwoodcommunityhouse.org for Pre-k and Kinders.

It is important to request this at least one week prior to your camp’s start date. In all cases, we will do our best to accommodate the request. Please note that groups are determined by age. If your camper is registered for multiple weeks, the group your camper is assigned to may change from week to week to adjust for variations in the changing roster of campers. Please watch for an email in your inbox from us the week before any registered week!

  • Unfortunately, we do not allow pre-k and Kinder aged kids to swim for safety reasons. We understand that some 3,4 and 5 year-olds may be able to swim; however, the majority of children this age are not confident and comfortable enough to swim.

  • *SCH does not issue cash or card refunds*

Cancellations made with 10 or more days written notice before the program start date will receive family credit for the canceled order(s). Family credit does not expire and can be used for other SCH registrations placed on Jumbula.

Cancellations made with fewer than 10 days written notice before the program start date are non-refundable and will not receive family credit.

If SCH cancels a program, we will make every effort to provide a make-up option. If you are unable to attend the make-up, or we are unable to offer a make-up class you will receive a family credit for your full payment.
